UAAP volleyball: UP ends four-game skid, sweeps UE

MANILA, Philippines–University of the Philippines snapped a four-game dropping spell after handing University of the East a 25-23, 26-24, 25-17 defeat Thursday within the UAAP Season 84 girls’s volleyball at Mall of Asia Arena.

The Fighting Maroons waited till the third set to peel away from the hard-fighting Lady Warriors, storming to a 22-14 lead en path to their fourth win towards 4 losses.

“It has been a while. Like I said before, like any other team we struggle, we have to find our rhythm. We want to win, we want to win more games and that’s what we are doing,” mentioned Fighting Maroons head coach Godfrey Okumu.

UP’s final victory was over University of Santo Tomas, a 25-21, 23-25, 25-21, 25-22, final May 10.

Alyssa Bertolano led the Fighting Maroons with 14 factors to assist hand the Lady Warriors their eighth straight setback.

UP’s subsequent project is UST, which is on a three-game successful streak, whereas UE tries to get its first win towards Adamson on Saturday.
