Morrison government has ‘completely abandoned’ Liberal principles


Independent candidate for Reid Natalie Baini says the major parties are in a “race to the bottom” this election.

Ms Baini, who was a Liberal Party member for several decades, is running for the marginal Liberal-held seat of Reid, in Sydney’s inner-west. 

“I would say that there’s a sense that this particular Liberal government has completely abandoned many of the Liberal principles on which the party was founded,” Ms Baini said. 

“And on which many of the previous governments have made their policy decisions. 

“It’s a lack of policy, to begin with. There seems to be a real absence of ideas.”
