France Adds Argentina to Its Green List, Removes Brunei & Singapore

Argentinian citizens can now travel to France regardless of their vaccination status after the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs has added this country to the green list. Travellers from countries on the green list are permitted to enter France for non-essential purposes even if they are not vaccinated against COVID-19.

Updating the list of green countries, the FMA has also removed Bahrain and Singapore from this list, what means that both countries now automatically fall into the amber list, which consists of the majority of world countries.

Thus, as of October 26, the list of green countries consists of the EU and Schengen Area countries, the European microstates as well as the following third countries: Australia, Argentina, Bahrein, Canada, Chile, Hong-Kong, Japan, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, New Zealand, Qatar, Rwanda, Saudi Arabia, Senegal, South Korea, Taiwan, Union of Comoros, United Arab Emirates, Uruguay and Vanuatu.

Travellers from these countries who are vaccinated can enter the country by showing proof of their vaccination, as well as a sworn statement. The latter is an attestation of the travellers that they have no COVID-19 symptoms, nor are they aware of having been in contact with a case of COVID-19 in the last two weeks.

Travellers from green countries who are not vaccinated or who do not meet the criteria to be recognised as a vaccinated person in France fall to different entry rules.

Unvaccinated travellers must provide proof of a negative PCR or antigen test for Covid-19 performed within 72 hours prior to departure for France,” the MFA explains regarding travel from green countries.

As per countries in the amber list, to which group now are also part Bahrein and Singapore, vaccinated travellers from these countries can also enter France restriction-free by only presenting proof of vaccination and a sworn statement.

Travellers from Amber countries who have not been vaccinated against COVID-19, in the meantime, can enter only if they have proof that they are travelling to France for essential purposes. They will also have to carry a sworn statement, test for COVID-19 before their trip to France, and may also have to take another antigen test upon arrival. A period of seven days in quarantine is also mandatory.

Updating the colour-coded maps, France has also removed one country from the red list – Iran – and has added no other. To date, the list consists of the following:

  • Afghanistan
  • Brazil
  • Costa-Rica
  • Cuba
  • Georgia
  • Moldavia
  • Montenegro
  • Pakistan
  • Russia
  • Serbia
  • Suriname
  • Turkey

Rules of entry for vaccinated travellers from red countries are the same as those for travellers from amber countries. Rules for non-vaccinated travellers are also similar to those from amber countries, only that the antigen test upon arrival is mandatory, and the quarantine period lasts for ten days instead of seven.
