KUALA LUMPUR, April 12 — Bursa Malaysia continued to remain unfavourable at noon as the general market sentiment remained weak.

At 12.30pm, the benchmark FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) was 0.20 per cent or 3.28 factors decrease at 1,601.33 in contrast with Monday’s shut of 1,604.61.

The barometer index opened 0.74 of-a-point simpler at 1,603.87 and moved between 1,599.96 and 1,603.98 all through the session.

On the broader market, losers led gainers 555 to 256, whereas 408 counters had been unchanged, 1,034 untraded and 12 others suspended.

Total turnover stood at two billion models value RM1.04 billion.

Rakuten Trade Sdn Bhd stated sentiments on Wall Street turned jittery, weighed on by greater yields and upcoming inflation knowledge.

Back dwelling, market heavyweights Maybank, Public Bank and CIMB had been flat at RM8.85, RM4.67 and RM5.33, respectively, whereas Petronas Chemicals rose 12 sen to RM10.32 and IHH Healthcare added three sen to RM6.43.

Of the actives, CSH Alliance and TWL gained half-a-sen every to 14.5 sen and 9 sen, respectively, MNC Wireless elevated 1.5 sen to 4.5 sen, Tanco improved 11.5 sen to 51 sen, whereas Sapura Energy misplaced half-a-sen to three.5 sen.

On the index board, FBMT 100 Index decreased 24.35 factors to 11,119.20, FBM Emas Index was 24.71 factors simpler at 11,463.24, FBM Emas Shariah Index fell 32.42 factors to 12,082.76, FBM 70 slipped 36.68 factors to 13,739.80, and FBM ACE gave up 23.89 factors to five,770.60.

Sector-wise, the Industrial Products and Services Index decreased 0.45 of-a-point to 213.63, the Financial Services Index decreased 21.86 factors to 16,734.0, whereas the Plantation Index gained 11.83 factors to eight,486.79. — Bernama
