BERNAMA – Mainstream media must continue to highlight danger of COVID-19

KOTA BHARU, May 1 (Bernama) — The public is reminded to not be complacent about the specter of COVID-19 though the federal government has eased preventive and restriction controls starting as we speak.

Communications and Multimedia Minister Tan Sri Annuar Musa mentioned his ministry would proceed to remind the general public about normal working procedures (SOP) by way of mainstream media platforms like tv and radio.

“Mainstream media platforms like commercial television, including Radio dan Televisyen Malaysia (RTM) and Bernama, along with radio, need to play their role in highlighting the danger, especially to at-risk groups, the elderly and those with chronic diseass,” he advised reporters after visiting former UMNO Information chief Tan Sri Hussein Ahmad in Kampung Lemal right here as we speak.

Annuar, who’s certainly one of the COVID-19 Quartet Ministers, mentioned his ministry will proceed to offer help to the transition to the endemic section applied since April 1, which is geared toward restoring the nation’s financial system.

“The transition to the endemic section has witnessed restrictions being eased for varied sectors, enabling Malaysians to return to a virtually regular life-style after over two years of combating COVID-19.

“This step is important as it will boost the national economy, especially affected sectors after the country’s borders were closed as part of the government’s fight against COVID-19,” he added.
